Welcome to the Eddy's Bread Sign Restoration Project.  This project is a tribute to one of Helena's great entrepreneurs and community leaders: J.E. "Eddy" O'Connell.

On September 14, 2012 work began to restore the Eddy's Bread sign on the north face of the Iron Front Hotel. See the photos in the Project Photo Album.  The restoration is being performed  by the "Wall Dogs" a dedicated group of artists working throughout the country to restore and preserve historically significant "ghost signs".

Please sign the Guest Book and share your memories of J.E. O'Connell, Eddy's Bread or any other Helena memories you wish to share.

I worked as an Eddy's Bread driver delivering bread to the north loop of Yellowstone Park including Cooke City during the summers of 75, 76, 77 and 78. It warms my heart to see these signs! Thanks!

Perhaps not exactly on the subject, but as a child growing up on a farm along Hwy 93 south of Polson, we always had a Eddy'e fence sign w/ my dad's name on it. That went by the wayside years ago, but I do have a nice one with another's name on display at our non profit museum, the Miracle of America Museum at Polson.
